Lake Texoma is a reservoir on the Red River formed by Denison Dam in Grayson and Bryan counties, Texas, and McCurtain County, Oklahoma. It has been a popular destination for recreation since the 1940s.  Lake Texoma is well known for its fishing. The lake has been stocked with many different types of fish, including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, black bass, striped bass, catfish, bream, crappie, and perch. Striped bass is the most sought-after fish in the lake.
In addition to fishing, Lake Texoma offers other recreational opportunities such as swimming, boating, water skiing, and camping. A State Park located on the Oklahoma side of the lake has trails for hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers.

Casino Near Lake Texoma

Lake Texoma is home to WinStar World Casino, Choctaw Casino Resort, and the Durant Indian Casino. WinStar World Casino is the largest casino globally, with more than 7,400 electronic games and nearly 1,000 table games. It also has a hotel with more than 850 rooms and suites.  Choctaw Casino Resort is slightly smaller than WinStar World Casino, with approximately 6,500 electronic games and nearly 800 table games. It also has a hotel with more than 400 rooms and suites. The Durant Indian Casino is the smallest of the three casinos near Lake Texoma, with only 2,600 electronic games. It does not have a hotel.

Another great shopping destination is the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant. This casino offers an excellent selection of stores, including designer clothing stores and jewelry shops.
