What Should We Bring?

Read our blog post that includes information about a Lake Texoma Fishing License.  No Lake Texoma Fishing License will result in no Striper Fishing.  Please check the Lake Texoma Weather Conditions before you start to pack for your trip.  You will need to dress for the weather, lightweight UPF Shirt is nice in the summer, and warm, waterproof layers in the winter.  A shad hat for summer and a warm stocking cap in the winter.  Sunblock is a must and polarized sunglasses.  Bring a small cooler with drinks and snacks.  If you want to drink alcohol feel free, but please do so in moderation.  Here is a Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Trip Checklist:

Do We Need To Know How To Fish?

How do you fish for stripers?

We Striper Fishing Lake Texoma year-round with live-bait and artificial lures.  We like to meet the needs and desires of our clients.  Most of our guided fishing tours Lake Texoma are with live-bait, but we can fish artificial lures if they are out producing shad.  Follow Striper Fishing Lake Texoma with live-bait for more information.


What time of year is best for striper fishing?

Lake Texoma is the Striper Fishing Capital of the World and this impoundment is very good year-round.  We have another blog post that breaks down the Lake Texoma Striper Seasons in detail.  Here is the short version of our Striper Seasons.

Winter (December to February)

What is the Lake Texoma Striper Record?

Here are all the water body records for Lake Texoma.  Oklahoma and Texas keep state records for each side, but we like to look at the Water Body records.  On April 25, 1984, Terry Harber caught a 35.12-pound 39.00-inch Striper on Lake Texoma.  The record all water body record still stands today!  Read more.


Do We Share A Boat?

NO!  All Lake Texoma Charter Fishing Trips with Jerry Smith will be with your group only.  If your group is larger than 6 anglers, I will charter other boats and will split your group up however you like.  Large groups or Corporate trips generally fish together with other guides and boats.


What If I have to Cancel?

Please read our Booking Policy and Weather Cancellation sections on our Rates page.  We work with our clients and understand life happens.  Please try to give us as much time in advance if you must cancel.
